We welcome teachers of all levels to learn more about Orff Schulwerk through workshops and local networking.

Benefits of Membership

Membership in the West Michigan Orff Chapter provides music teachers with access to workshops which focus on the process and materials used in the Orff Schulwerk approach.   It also provides opportunities to network with other teachers in the greater Grand Rapids area.  Through membership in the national organization, American Orff-Schulwerk Association (AOSA), teachers receive a quarterly journal, The Orff Echo and the newsletter, Reverberations.  National membership also provides access to other local workshops and to the national conference held in November each year.  For more information on AOSA, visit their Web site at http://www.aosa.org

How Can You Join?

Membership is open to ANYONE interested in the Orff philosophy and its application.  Our members are primarily elementary music teachers who use the process developed by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman, but we welcome anyone who wants to know more about this exciting process of instruction.  Classroom teachers, early childhood educators, and those involved with private instruction are all welcome.

Many of our teachers have taken Orff Schulwerk Teacher Training (Levels I-III) but that training is not a requirement for membership.  We certainly encourage the Orff Schulwerk training, but for many of our members, the regular workshops are their primary involvement with the Orff process.

Membership forms and workshop information will not be mailed to individuals.  If you are interested in becoming a member, please select Registration Form from the menu in the left side-bar.  Copy that form and mail as instructed
